Principal gives behind-the-scenes look at MNPS elementary school for Principal for a Day

Ten years ago, Dr. Ashley Thomas was a teacher in Room 207 at Park Avenue Elementary School. Now, she’s in her second year as principal at the school.Thomas, also a graduate of Metro Nashville Public Schools, spent Thursday morning showing Ellie Lasarow around the school as part of the Principal for a Day program put on by Pencil. Lasarow is a student at Vanderbilt’s Peabody College studying public policy and education policy. Originally from Los Angeles, she’s worked in schools as a coding teacher with a nonprofit.
