YWCA Nashville & Middle Tennessee works to educate our community on social and racial justice issues, including the importance of voting rights and civic engagement. Gerrymandering is an age-old political tool. Many don’t understand this tool’s concepts and consequences, especially for communities of color. Gerrymandering has garnered national headlines and lawsuits by civil rights groups around the country who allege that voter’s voices are being silenced.
