DESCRIPTION:This Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month\, we want to understand how we can better support Asian American students in Tennessee. Join EdTrust – Tennessee to learn more about Asian American students in our state\, current issues impacting their success in the classroom and opportunities for education advocates and policymakers to ensure they are thriving in our state.  \nOur featured speaker is Dr. OiYan Poon\, an educator\, author\, speaker\, and race and education scholar. She is co-director of the College Admissions Futures Co-Laborative and Senior Research Fellow for Education Equity at the NAACP LDF Thurgood Marshall Institute.  \nOther speakers include: \nJoseph Gutierrez\, Executive Director of API Middle Tennessee \nSabina Mohyuddin\, Executive Director of American Muslim Advisory Council  \nThis event is part of EdTrust-Tennessee’s Policy and Community Speaker Series and is co-hosted by the following organizations: API Middle Tennessee\, Tennessee Immigrant and Refugee Rights Coalition and American Muslim Advisory Council. \nRegister
